Renoir to Rothko at the Phillips

Ever visited the Phillips? Unlike many of Washington, DC's huge art museums like the National Gallery of Art and the Hirshorn, close to D.C.'s central Mall, the Phillips Collection was a private home tucked away near Dupont Circle. Among the many great art works is the large canvas that is perhaps Renoir's greatest painting, "The Boating Party." Read and/or listen to NPR's "Celebrating the Phillips Collections's 90th Birthday," by Susan Stamberg.
