Artist/illustrator Winslow Homer (1836 -1910) is featured in an online display by the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The "exhibit" is culled from a retrospective at the museum in 2005. Homer began his career as an illustrator for Harper's Weekly and was a correspondent/illustrator during the civil war, as a short video on this site explains.
